Calvino does it again...

"Long novels written today are perhaps a contradiction; the dimension of time has been shattered, we cannot love or think except in fragments of time each of which goes off along it's own trajectory and immediately disappears. We can rediscover the continuity of time only in the novels of that period when time no longer seemed stopped and did not yet seem to have exploded."

one day it might be finished and up to standard. For my brother....

kind of my project....?

the library at night

"lying open in glass cases, stripped of their surroundings, honoured but unread - less purveyors of words than funerary objects, expelled from their home after his death - books seem to suffer the fate of the spouses and servants of these ancients kings whose households followed their master to the gave"

"even today, when little or no importance is accorded to the intellectual act, books, read or unread, whatever their use or value, are often lent such awe-inspiring prestige"

- Alberto Manguel [legend]

An attempt at connecting my thoughts and my research with my space. Yeah, still working on this one, being part time is weird, not sure if I like it.

My project boils down to three interventions;
1. 'slow down for books'
2. a reading space
3. increased engagement with the site, through video interviews, I think? it would be cool if they could then be played within the site, somewhere, but that might be a bit ambitious, on limited time/money/skill etc

basically, they're all focused on the idea of slowing people down within the space.
